Here is a link to some information on a Canadian hero, Terry Fox. Terry Fox was diagnosed with cancer at a young age and had to have his leg amputated, but this didn't stop him. He decided to run across Canada on one leg to raise money for cancer research. The 'Marathon of Hope', which will take place tomorrow, is still run across Canada to commemorate Terry and continues to raise money for cancer research.

Do you want to make some paper cranes at home to help us reach our goal of 1000 cranes? According to Japanese tradition, anyone with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 paper cranes will be granted their most desired wish, because they have exhibited the cranes’ loyalty and recreated their beauty. Sadako Sasaki also became famous for her own attempt to fold 1,000 cranes in the 1950s. Inspired to follow the legend, Sadako folded paper cranes in her hospital bed, praying for world peace.
